MERRY CHRISTMAS BOOK CLUB

Hey Gals...
How are you enjoying your Classic books?

Here's a little early Christmas present from me to you, courtesy of Lainey.

When should we reconvene in the New Year? I'm afraid that Friday Night Lights starts again on FRIDAY'S January 16 so I'll probably be home with Riggins every Friday in 2009. Amber, you with me on that one? Heck yes.

I'm excited to start The Thirteenth Tale as soon as I've finished Treasure Island.

Merry Christmas!

So Long Scrooge...

This morning I received a Christmas card from an unsuspecting co-worker, it begins…

"Christine,
You are beautiful and charismatic – but also very smart, which most people who know you are well aware."

Um, hello…that sure beats the run of the well “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”! I officially like Christmas more than just a little bit.

How are you all enjoying your Christmas Classics?

Mine is a “Yo-ho-ho and a Bottle of Rum!”, Piratey goodness!

Wiki Tidbit

I just found this on Wikipedia under Vedran Smailović - the Cellist of Sarajevo - and found it interesting...

"Canadian author Steven Galloway used Smajlović's act as the basis for his bestselling 2008 novel, The Cellist of Sarajevo. He did so without consultation with Smajlović, and the Canadian edition uses his picture on the cover. Although he only appears as a peripheral character in the novel, Smajlović has publicly expressed his outrage over the publication of the book."

I can see if he changed his name, even using him as a peripheral character, but to put his picture on the cover without consent? I wonder if he's sueing.
